Breast Milk Recipe: How to Make a Breast Milk Smash Cake
Your baby's first birthday is a huge, exciting milestone! Celebrate in style - and make sure he or she gets some of your liquid gold - with a breast milk smash cake, made just for the guest of honor: your soon-to-be 1-year old!
Here's How to Make Sure Your Liquid Gold Gets in Baby's Birthday Cake!
Reaching one year of breast milk feeding is reason enough to celebrate, mama – but celebrating your little one’s first birthday is an especially momentous occasion. Whether you decide to keep your baby’s first birthday party small, intimate, and private, or you plan to do it up big with lots of friends, family, and celebrating, watching your little one dig into their first smash cake is practically a parenthood rite of passage. As you begin to plan your baby’s very first birthday cake, be sure to consider any food allergies or known sensitivities. Some parents prefer to forego refined sugar and/or flour, while others may be planning a more traditional cake for their baby to smash their tiny fists into. A great way to use some of your stored, pumped breast milk and dig into that surplus is by utilizing your breast milk – in place of dairy or other milk – in the recipe for your baby’s cake. Though it may be a little more time-consuming to have two separate cakes – a small one for your baby and a non-breast milk one for yourself, your partner, and any guests – including breast milk in your little one’s first birthday cake is just another creative way to ensure he or she still receives your precious liquid gold.
