What Benefits Does Hollister Offer? |
Full-time associates who give birth may be eligible for 6 to 8 weeks of paid short-term disability leave and 6 weeks of paid Hollister parental leave, protected by up to 12 weeks of unpaid job protection through the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). See below for details on each of these benefits. |
Family Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA) |
Associates who have worked for the company at least twelve (12) months, and worked at least 1,250 hours during the twelve (12) months prior to taking a leave of absence, are eligible for job protection through the Family Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA) act.
-
12 work weeks of unpaid job protection is provided – no income is guaranteed with this leave, but your position will be protected until your return.
-
It can be used on an intermittent basis, as one block leave, or a combination of both – meaning, FMLA can be used prenatally for doctor appointments, pregnancy complications, or ultrasounds, and also postnatally for birth and bonding. Note that you may be required to provide additional information from your doctor or healthcare provider if you opt to use FMLA for prenatal appointments and /or pregnancy-related complications. Hollister can place limits on intermittent bonding requests.
-
Prenatal use of FMLA for appointments and/or pregnancy-related complications will be deducted from the total 12 work weeks that you are entitled to, which may reduce the number of hours/work weeks available postnatally for birth and bonding. If Associate is not eligible for FMLA, please contact Lincoln Financial for accommodation options.

Lincoln Financial Group is the short-term disability, leave and accommodation administrator for Hollister. They make all decisions regarding short-term disability approval, process your leave documents, and notify Hollister of approval for payment processing.
-
Once your claim is approved, short-term disability payments will be paid by Hollister on your normal payroll schedule.
- There is a one (1) week elimination – or waiting – period that is required before short-term disability begins. This waiting period may be satisfied with Paid Time Off (PTO) or your parental leave benefits, or it will be unpaid.
-
Short-term disability coverage is based on 80% of your salary or hourly rate, and pays out six (6) weeks for a vaginal birth or eight (8) weeks for a cesarean section birth (not including the one week waiting period).
- This benefit runs concurrently during your FMLA leave period.
Hollister provides full-time associates with six (6) weeks of paid parental leave, and this is available to all associates as soon as they are hired. |
- This leave is paid at 100% of your salary or hourly rate.
-
Parental leave must be used within the first 12 months following the birth, adoption, or placement of a child for foster care.
- Mothers are allowed to use up to 1 week of Parental Leave to fulfill the waiting period before their short-term disability begins.
- If Hollister employs both parents on a full-time basis, then each parent is eligible for their own six (6) weeks of paid parental leave.
