Employed Mothers’ Satisfaction with the Breastfeeding Provisions in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act

This one-hour webinar will present a brief history of the Breastfeeding Provisions in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the current level of protections in the workplace for employed mothers in the United States.  The presenter will share this study’s results (from self-reported breastfeeding initiation, duration, and pumping experiences) and discuss the extent to which the health policy allows employed women to combine breastfeeding and employment.  This presentation will conclude with areas to explore future research.

Objectives

- Identify key components of the Breastfeeding Provisions in the PPACA

- Describe the sample in this study and their overall experiences
